Suren Manvelyan
Born: 1976-Present
From Yerevan, Armenia
Photographer, digital photographer an photojournalist
Suren began his interest in photography at the age of 16 and became a personal photographer in 2006. He attended Yerevan Waldorf School from 1997 to 2011, where he studied and received his phD in Theoretical Physics in 2001. He also attended the Institute of Physical Research of the National Academy of Sciences, studying scientific research.
This photographer captures the visual characteristics of eyes of both humans and animals and is able to compare and contrast them to moons, planets and craters. "...the surface resembles [those] of others planets, with craters, rivers and valleys... windows to the soul" - Suren Manvelyan. Using macro shoots, he is able to capture what is more to the eye than color and circles, "we see thousand of eyes in our life but never suspect about the structure of the iris."
Although I am not able to use the same technology and equipment that Suren has used, my work was inspired from his "Your beautiful Eyes" series. I shot various pictures of others different color eyes, trying to get them at different angles.
